Reserve Bank of India | Grade B Exam Pattern
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is the premier bank of India,that regulates & monitors banking operations of the nation.Recently RBI issued notification about its recruitment of 79 Grade B Officers.August 24th 2009 was the last date for sending applications & the first phase of written exam is to be held on Oct 11 2009.As per many requests on the analysis of the exam pattern in detail,we are providing detailed info on the exam.
Reserve Bank of India Selection Process : The selection process of RBI is slightly different from other public sector banks.The selection consists of 3 phases -
* Phase 1 (Objective Test)
* Phase 2 (Descriptive Test)
* Interview
As said earlier,the Objective type test will be conducted in the month of October.Based on the results ,candidates who have scored the minimum marks in each test will be called for Phase 2 – Descriptive test,which is to be held in early 2010.Interview would be conducted to those candidates, depending on the performance in phase 2 only.
Objective type test – Phase 1 : The test will have a duration of 3 hours & 200 marks.The objective test will have the following sections/papers –
i) General awareness
ii) English Language
iii) Quantitative Aptitude
iv) Reasoning
A candidate must score the minimum mark in each section to become eligible for phase 2.The results for RBI exam,Phase 1 will be out by November 2009.
Descriptive test – Phase 2 : The date & time of descriptive test will be informed to those candidates who were successful in the Phase 1 only.In the descriptive type test,there will be three papers -
i) Paper I – English
ii) Paper II – Economic and Social Issues
iii) Paper III – Finance and Management.
Each of these papers is of 3 hours duration carrying 100 marks.
Interview : Candidates would be shortlisted for Interview based on the score in Phase 2.The minimum marks for getting selected for interview will be decided by the board depending on the overall performance of candidates & number of vacancies
